TECHNICAL DUE DILIGENCE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS

We conduct technical due diligence of renewable energy projects, providing investors with an independent technical assessment and identifying key risks that may affect the project’s value, schedule and overall feasibility.

We assess projects at various stages of development – from early-stage / greenfield projects, through projects undergoing the development process, to investments with all key administrative approvals and grid connection arrangements in place.

We support projects including:

  • utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects,
  • wind projects,
  • battery energy storage systems (BESS),
  • cable pooling projects (PV ↔ WIND),
  • renewable energy projects integrated with energy storage systems.

As part of our Technical Due Diligence, we assess, among other things:

  • completeness and consistency of project documentation,
  • compliance of the proposed technical solutions with obtained permits, decisions and grid connection conditions,
  • building design and technological solutions,
  • grid connection conditions and electrical infrastructure,
  • CAPEX assumptions and their alignment with current market conditions,
  • project implementation schedule,
  • project readiness to commence construction,
  • technical, construction and operational risks,
  • potential deal breakers and areas requiring additional transaction safeguards.

The outcome of our work is an independent assessment of the project, identification of key risks and recommendations regarding its further development, acquisition, financing or execution.

MANAGEMENT OF DEVELOPMENT PROCESSES AND DELIVERY OF KEY PROJECT MILESTONES

 

Rawicom Consulting Services does not limit its role to assessing the current status of a project. We actively manage the processes required to achieve subsequent milestones of renewable energy investments.

We support investors and project owners in organising, coordinating and managing administrative, planning and grid connection processes aimed at increasing the project’s level of maturity and preparing it for the next stage of development, a transaction or project execution.

Depending on the nature of the project and the Investor’s requirements, we can support selected stages of the investment process or assume comprehensive responsibility for their delivery.

Our scope of support includes, among other things:

  • identification of attractive locations and securing land rights,
  • management of planning procedures, including procedures related to obtaining zoning decisions or adopting Local Spatial Development Plans (MPZP),
  • obtaining environmental decisions and permits,
  • managing the grid connection process,
  • preparation and coordination of technical and design documentation,
  • obtaining decisions and permits required for project execution, including building permits,
  • coordination of the development process for photovoltaic, battery energy storage (BESS) and wind projects in Poland – through to Ready to Build (RtB) status.

Our objective is to bring projects to successive, measurable stages of investment readiness, rather than merely assess their current status.

Depending on the project stage, we can assume responsibility for selected processes or coordinate the entire development pathway – from the greenfield stage, through obtaining key administrative decisions and grid connection conditions, to preparing the project for construction (RTB – Ready to Build).

SOURCING AND SCREENING OF RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS

We support investors in the active sourcing and screening of renewable energy projects available on the market. Based on the Client’s individual investment strategy, we conduct targeted market screening and identify projects that meet defined technical, geographic, regulatory and business criteria.

When sourcing and assessing projects, we consider, among other factors:

  • Technology and project scale: technology type, installed capacity and potential for expansion or integration with energy storage,
  • Location and land availability: project location, legal status and availability of land,
  • Development stage and permitting status: project maturity and status of key administrative approvals,
  • Grid connection: status of the grid connection process, obtained connection conditions and key technical considerations,
  • Transaction structure and risk profile: anticipated transaction model and the level of risk acceptable to the investor,
  • Timeline and execution potential: expected timing for achieving subsequent milestones and the project’s potential to progress towards construction.
